COULEUR/KOULÈ

"Couleur/koulè" is a piece that focuses on community, working collectively, and the relationship dynamics between women and society. Prevalent themes in the work include identity, history, and thoughts around being a woman of color in America. This piece was first performed and recorded at Hunter College’s Peggy Theater and it has also been shown at La MaMa experimental theater club thanks to Maura Donohue as part of La MaMa Kids: Family Play Date. In 2021, it was shown online as part of Miami’s Show and Talk, facilitated by Michelle Grant Murray.
