Apr. 14th - 16th, 2016
Venue: The Kaye Playhouse at CUNY, Hunter College in New York City
This piece uses music by Toto Bissainthe who was known for blending traditional Vodun sounds with contemporary arrangements. The piece itself, with its warm tones follows several female dancers as they energetically weave throughout the dance in solos, duos, and group sections. The Haitian-creole lyrics of the music highly contrast the warmth of the stage as the words speak of isolation, mistrust, and transactional relationships amongst family and friends
